The Lakota Stallions are a member of the “Sportsmanship First League”. SportsLeader, a Christian Faith based organization, teaches our coaches how to mentor to our players year round. Dave Cisar's, Winning Youth Football, teachers our coaches the X's and O's of youth football.
Some think sportsmanship is considered a sign of weakness when, in fact, it's the ultimate sign of strength. The qualities for which we strive, include:
- Displaying “out of control good sportsmanship”
- “Transforming boys to Men beyond the goal line”
- Making sure that every player has FUN, FIRST AND FOREMOST.
Youth football is a participation sport and is “just youth football,” not high school, not college, or professional football.
We are a league that puts sportsmanship and the player first!
Stallions football players in our program will be impacted physically, mentally and spiritually. The goal is first to be winners in life through focus on academics, faith and service to others combined a equally balanced goal to win on Saturdays. All this is accomplished without being a "win at all cost" organization.
Every Player Guaranteed to Start on Offense or Defense. Teaching Players Life Skills on How to Win with Values, Virtues, and Charity, NOT WINNING AT ALL COST.
Trophies: Only a team that earns and wins a CYFL league championship through the playoff system are permitted to award individual Championship trophies. The Stallion model is: The league may present trophies or medallions to post season league Championship Games. Only Championship winners are permitted to give personal individual Championship trophies. As an organization we will not present individual or team trophies. Each child should remember the experience as to what they learned, the friends they made, and the values they walked away with. No team is to give individual trophies, expect Championship winners, any time during the season or post season parties. The goal of the Stallions is not to win a trophy. Trophies pale in the light to that of spiritual achievements by your players and in their actions of Virtue that happened every day on your team that go noticed or unnoticed.
